Here with Myself

I’ve been here before,

Just not by myself.

Beside me was always another,

Whether it was on the benches or by the wall,

I was never alone.

Now I’m here with myself,

But I don’t feel alone.

I don’t long for company;

I dislike intruders.

Here with myself

I reflect on all my previous companions,

The conversations at the various spots.

I look around and smile…

Why did it take so long to be here with myself?

Of all the times I’ve been here before,

Being with myself gives the greatest feeling of all.

180 Days of Boasting about God – Day 72

For God alone my soul waits in silence; from him comes my salvation.
He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be greatly shaken.

For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence, for my hope is from him.
He only is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be shaken.

Once God has spoken; twice have I heard this: that power belongs to God, and that to you, O Lord, belongs steadfast love. For you will render to a man according to his work.

Psalms 62:1‭-‬2‭, ‬5‭-‬6‭, ‬11‭-‬12 ESV

The poetry of this psalm makes me stop and think of the truth that my hope and salvation only comes from God. Power belongs to God!!

Parts of Me

The raw truth is that I’m not consistently me.

Sometimes I like people, and then I don’t. There are people I get happy to see calling or messaging me. Yet there are others that cause me to groan when I see their name pop up.

I’ll get extremely happy to see some people happy and making monumental life achievements. Then I’ll get jealous and wish others would fail or not be as successful as they are or can be.

There are days where I feel extremely confident and know without a shadow of a doubt that I can achieve my goals. The sun goes down and suddenly it’s opposite day. On those days, I feel like I’m stuck between a rock and a hard place, right in the middle of an iron box.

I’m not always me. But I’m pretty sure that it’s normal. You may have mixed emotions but it’s normal.

Thank you!

I now have 50+ followers and I want to take the time to say a big, heart-felt THANK YOU!

I love you! Blessings.

It’s going to be okay

Grab your pillow/teddy bear.
It’s okay to have down time and feel sad.
Talk it over with God or play a game.
You don’t always need help to get through a sad phase.

Grab your pillow/teddy bear, it’s going to be okay.

Vision Stealers

As you should guard your heart, guard your vision. There are vision stealers (saved and unsaved) who will resent you for it. Vision stealers will only tell you why it’s not going to work and why your vision is too big.

Guard your vision and never give up on what God has revealed to you.

I Got That Girl

I just knew when I saw you.
I had to get you.

It was at the bus stop
Where I recognized your beauty
through the most amazing dimpled smile I have ever seen.
Where I saw life glittering through large, dark brown eyes.
It was at the bus stop that I knew
Without a doubt, I needed you in my life.
I made a vow, “I must get that girl.”

After endless conversations…timeless moments….
I got THAT girl.

That girl whose presence brings comfort,
Laughter gives peace, and touch brings joy.
That girl who makes me feel sure by just being in my life.
She represents security through every word we share,
As I know that she has my back as I have hers.

After endless conversations…timeless moments….
I got THAT girl.

That girl who is the living definition of the word ‘love’
She exudes care and concern for my well-being.
Seeks my good and happiness before her own.
Forgives me for errors and is patient as I change.
That girl who causes me to feel empty when she isn’t near

After endless conversations…timeless moments….
You are THAT girl!

Stay Focused

I have placed you on the road.
Walk straight ahead.
Turn not to the left.
Turn not to the right.

The road is rough, rocky, and dark.
But I am a lamp to your fight.
I will guide your path.
Stay focused on Me.

No matter the attacks, war, and strife
Be strong and of good courage.
Press towards the prize of My high calling.

Stay focused.
Feed on My Word.
Worship Me in spirit and in truth.

I have placed you on the road.
Walk straight ahead.
Turn not to the left.
Turn not to the right.
Walk straight ahead.

I am MORE (Dub Poem)

Greater is He that lives in me than he that lives in the world.
I am not a likkle overcomer, I am more than a conqueror.

I am more, mi nah fi live inna sin
I am more, mi nah go trick mi bredrin
I am more, mi a go bless, not curse
I am more than ordinary.

Greater is He that lives in me than he that lives in the world.
I am not a likkle overcomer, I am more than a conqueror.

First Peter 2 verse 9 tell mi seh,
We are a chosen generation, we are a royal, holy nation.
We are more than ordinary because we are peculiar people.
We are peculiar people.
So wi praise must more than ordinary.
Wi praise must more than di usual.

Shabach don’ mean whisper, shabach mean shout
So shout yuh praise and praise di lawd
Praise him from di earth mek it reach to di sky,
Shout yuh praise to di Most High
Shabach don’ mean whisper, shabach mean shout
So shout yuh praise and praise di lawd.

Thoughts of a Tired Heart

My heart aches. It knows the truth
My mind thinks it. But my lips won’t say it
Yet my heart aches. Because it knows the truth

I stand in the midst of thousands
But there is not one who knows my voice
I could share with those who say they care…
Oh yes, they care. Yet they can never understand.

My heart sinks as the truth is revealed.
Failed attempts echo the truth through my soul,
“Don’t waste your time in trying”
“No one will ever understand”

My heart aches. It knows the truth
My mind thinks it. But my lips won’t say it
Yet my heart aches. Because it knows the truth

People see me as brave,
It’s not because I wanted to be
I am seen as distant and cold,
It’s not how I meant to be
No one knows what it’s like to be me.

I had to be brave because no one ever defended me
I had to be distant because I’m usually misunderstood
I had to be cold because I’m often insulted, and hated because I don’t speak or act like everyone thinks I should

My heart aches. It knows the truth
My mind thinks it. But my lips won’t say it
Yet my heart aches. Because it knows the truth
The truth is, I stand alone in the crowd.

True Hope

I hope it rains tomorrow…this is the worldview
To wish that things will turn out as you would want them to be
But with all this wishing, the belief of certainty is never really true
For while the world wishes, they are prepared to say, “oh well, this just wasn’t meant to be”.

I hope to see God… this is the Biblical view
To know and expect that things will turn out just as God promised they will be
The truth is, when we hope to see a change
And hope that our problems will be over
It’s not about wishing
It’s not about waiting to see IF…
It’s all about knowing and believing that these things must be.

Our hope isn’t manifested from human thoughts
Our hope begins from a spiritual source
As Faith is the substance of what we hope for.
Faith is the ingredient that helps us to declare…
My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus’ blood and righteousness.
I dare not trust the sweetest frame, but wholly lean on Jesus’ name.
On Christ the solid rock I stand,
All other ground is sinking sand; all other ground is sinking sand.

With faith that God is a deliverer…
David cried out, “Why are thou cast down oh my soul? Hope thou in God”
With faith that God knows everything…
Paul hoped that even though he only knew in part, one day he would know the whole.
From expecting for an end to suffering and pain
To seeing God seated on His throne
The Christian hope declares that, without a doubt, we believe that these things we will see.

On Christ the solid rock we stand, Our hope began when Jesus died on the cross Why are your souls cast down? Hope thou in God

Who Is My God?

“The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof,

the world and they that dwell therein.”

Who is my God?

He is the Creator.

“From the rising of the sun , to the going down the same…”

we go about our daily businesses – to work, to school, to church –

with little or no incidents.

Who is my God?

He is our Protector.

“The Lord is my light and my salvation, whom shall i fear?”

He is my Peace.

Who is my God?

He is El Shaddi – Lord God Almighty

He is Jehovah Rapha – the Lord that heals

But even though I’ve said all this

You still do not understand.

So the question remains –

Who Is My God?

“…I am the Lord, thy God, that divided the sea…” Isaiah 51:15

“And, behold, I am with thee, and will keep thee in

all places whither thou goest…I will not leave thee

until i have done that which i have spoken to thee of.”Genesis 28:15

Who Is My God?

He is Jehovah Shammah – the Lord is There.

He delivered the children of Israel from bondage.

He delivered David from Saul.

When the issues of life arise,

my God has healed,

He has blessed,

He has covered us under His blood.

Who Is My God?

He’s a God that never fails.

How can I give to God when I feel empty? Poem

Sometimes I go to church and feel so low and discouraged.
At this point, I’m empty-handed and my attendance is out of habit.
I sing and clap as the music dictates,
But my heart…….my heart cannot wait for the benediction to resonate

Yet the scripture says we should enter His presence with Thanksgiving.
Yet the scripture says we should go into His house with praise.
Be thankful and bless His name, that’s what the scripture says.

I wonder, how can I be thankful when I feel so burdened?
I think, where should I get it from to give Him?
I get upset because I kept giving, but not receiving in return,
Yet this God wants me to give what I know I do not have [sigh].

How can I give to God when I feel so empty?
How can I say, “thank You” when I feel so bitter?
How can I bless You when I want to curse You?

How? My eyes start to water.
How? My heart starts to break.
How? My mind starts to turn back.
But then….at this point….right here, I stop.

I listen to the voice that says, “My strength is made perfect in your weakness.”
The voice that whispers, “My grace is sufficient for all your needs.”
I hear His still small voice saying, “I will supply all your needs according to My riches in glory.”

So, the scripture says we should enter His presence with Thanksgiving.
So, the scripture says we should go into His house with praise.
Be thankful and bless His name, that’s what the scripture says.

And now I know how to give to God when I feel so empty.
It’s simple, all I need to do is tap into His resources.
It’s simple, just thank Him from His goodness, instead of from my weakness.

A Cry for Help

A Cry for Help

We see it so often, yet ignore the signs
But when it’s too late we want to offer a listening ear
We want to show that we care, when it’s too late

My words, my posts, my absence…indications that I needed help
Your inability to understand all these demonstrations by a soul in need, shows that you’re not a friend indeed

Don’t come around when I fall
Don’t tell me “it will be alright” when the problem is blatant
Leave me alone to be comforted by myself
I stood alone in my ache, when I made my cries for help

A cry for help
You see it so often, yet ignore the signs
You judge, criticise, gossip, tell lies….when you see my acts reflecting my pain
You say I’m too far gone, that only God can help
But when the truth about my situation has become clear to you,
You come around, trying to show God’s love to me

I need your help
Not when it’s too late
I need your help
When you can’t see my pain

Please, understand when I cry for help
